There are things that make Kenya my sweet darling, talk roasted maize! Green maize. Forget corn.
Somewhere in Kenya, a place called Lari Kijabe is a popular spot for very sweet roast maize. Okay I admit everywhere in Kenya you will enjoy roast maize. When you see people gathered next to a man fanning his improvised grill to keep the charcoal in the perfect temperature, yes, you know that is going to be some mouth watering maize.
You can still convince any Kenyan to roast for you if the distance between this blog and the guy roasting maize is huge! ☺❤☺☺☺

Coming to Nairobi from Lari Kiambu, I would pass there and quietly promise myself not to eat roast maize again. The matatu driver would then stop to order maize, and pick passengers.
If you know that roast maize scent!! Promise broken.

Oh the days I would pass the sellers and not look
Oh that I would go back and take 3, no 4 pieces!

And while at it enjoy the beautiful landscape in Lari. The cold air, the freshness I felt when breathing in that cold air in gulps. The place is near Nairobi so a drive, a slow drive would be medicine to a soul that needs a break.

Next time I will take in the details of the dense forest,
I will stare endlessly to that thick green lush grass that manicures the forest
I will enjoy the roast maize
and step out to breathe in the freshest air
Maybe a flask of tea will perfect the experience.
